Message to Our Patients About Coronavirus/Covid-19
Starting March 1, 2021 we will be seeing patients honoring social distancing at Port Jefferson, Patchogue and Wading River locations until further notice.
We are open and we are available 24/7 to attend to your Obstetrical and Gynecologic needs. However, in an effort to provide the best possible care to our patients while protected them and our staff from unnecessary exposure we have instituted a number of precautions and options.
First and foremost, If you are have tested positive for the virus or have a test pending or if you are experiencing any symptoms of cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fever, loss of taste or smell, nausea or diarrhea you must alert our staff by telephone prior to entering the office so that we can determine the need to reschedule your appointment for a later time or another day.
At this time we are not allowing a chaperone, visitor or partner at any office visits. We will now allow a partner/spouse for OB Ultrasounds under strict office guidelines. The Partner and patient are to be Covid screened upon entrance to the office.
Patient and spouse are both given a clean, fresh mask to double mask covering their own to wear for the duration of the appointment/practice encounter. We ask that you use hand sanitizer before entering the US suite. Once the tech has allowed the partner to take part in the US visit, the partner will then be asked to return to their car until the patient is complete with the provider visit.
In accordance to NYS guidelines our office is sanitized daily and to add an extra level of protection, each patient will be temperature checked, along with C-19 questionnaire at check-in. Please remember to wear your face cover/mask at all times while in the confines of the practice.
You will then be triaged upon arrival and immediately placed in an exam room at the earliest time possible. If the exam rooms are full you will be asked to leave your cellphone number with the front desk and wait in your car for an available room or if socially distanced space is available you may be asked to wait in our waiting room. We ask that only the patient and no other friends or family members attend the visit.
We have modified our office appointments to reduce unnecessary exposure risk to all and will be seeing our obstetrical and urgent gynecologic patients in the office as detailed above. We are also offering Physician telemedicine visits to existing and new patients whose conditions allow. In order to obtain a virtual visit please call our regular office number at 631-473-7171 and you will be instructed on how to proceed.
We want you to know that we are here for you during this stressful time and will do everything possible to provide you with quality and safe Obstetrical and Gynecologic care.
Stay safe and do not hesitate to call with any questions or concerns, The Physicians and Staff at Suffolk Obstetrics & Gynecology
